Currently Obsessed: The Best Grocery Store Iced Coffee, Sam’s vs. Costco, and A Possible New Pup!

August 23, 2017 in Currently Obsessed

This week has been a whirlwind. We spontaneously decided to renovate our bathroom this past Saturday (check out before photos and design plan here) and made serious progress throughout the last four days. I am hoping we can get the vanity and toilet installed before we go back to Nebraska on Friday – fingers crossed!

I set some major blog goals for this month and one is to make sure I keep up with my weekly Wednesday roundup and so far I’ve got two in a row! WOO! I’ve got some great content coming your way that includes home decor/DIY, travel, some of our wedding photos, and other fun random stories. If you don’t want to miss a post be sure to like the Facebook page! On to my weekly faves…

The Best Iced Coffee Ever

I never started drinking coffee until about 2 years ago and now I rarely have a morning where I go without a cup. I love iced coffee (I’ve never been too keen on hot drinks) and used to make a cup in my Keurig and let it sit until it cooled off a bit and then poured it over ice. I also tried a few cold brew concentrate mixes but nothing ever stuck. Last week I tried Stok iced coffee and I am hooked! I get the “Not Too Sweet” version and it is seriously just sweet enough where I don’t add any creamer or sugar and just top my tumbler off with a bit of milk. If you love iced coffee you have to try this one!

A New Boss Babe Must-Read

Ashli over at Baby on the Brehm seriously made my week this week! First of all she is a blogger that I have never met in person and she PayPal’d me a good chunk of money during my furniture sale on Sunday! Without ever meeting me face to face! (#trust) So thanks to her – along with a few other Nebraska gals! – JR and I met our goal to make $500 in a day for our current renovation. I’m pretty excited to make my round of Lincoln and Omaha deliveries on Saturday. She also did a Facebook live this week about a book called Girl Code. I have been on the hunt for a good audiobook and can’t wait to start this one. If you are a blogger/lady entrepreneur, Girl Code should probably be on your shelf!

Swan Faucet

Did I mention I bought this crazy faucet? I did, I bought this faucet and my heart is bursting with joy about it. (JR’s heart is not bursting about it. LOL.)

Hello Fresh Update

I mentioned Hello Fresh on my round up last week and we got our 3rd week’s delivery yesterday. If you want to sign up you can use the link here and get $35 off your first order ($60-$35=$25 for 3 dinners!). We have loved every meal – even the somewhat adventurous ones! (Adventurous for us!) This one was surprisingly good. I loved this one and will definitely try and make it myself. This was the best steak I’ve ever made in my life. And JR said this burger was his favorite out of the six we’ve tried.

Costco V. Sam’s

I have been slowly making a kitchen/living room renovation plan and found some awesome flooring at Costco. We currently have a Sam’s Club membership so would it be worth it to join? Any Costco members out there? Or can I just bum off someone else’s membership to order the floors? I have never been inside a Costco. Sam’s is my jam! Comment below on your thoughts!

The Second Dog Debate

Prior to the great tooth debacle (Camp is doing fine now! Although I tear up every time I see his missing tooth!) we had been debating on getting another puppy. We love our Brittany spaniels but have also been open to adopting from a shelter. We will probably wait a month or so but are still nervous if it’s the right choice. We have always said we would want to get a second dog and it would be great to have a pup for Camp to play with during the day. My parent’s have a Brittany and two small dogs so it’s a lot when we visit them and adding to the crazy seems a bit – well crazy. We also are nervous about traveling and having to ask someone to watch not one, but two dogs! Yikes! We also are anxious about the day to day aspects – what if they don’t get along? Will he/she be easier to train since Camp is pretty well behaved? Will Camp and new-puppy form a pack and over take JR and I as the alphas? Any crazy dog people out there – what are your thoughts/experiences?

Comment below and help a sista out – and oh yeah….HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

I wanted to talk about the 2 dog debate….we had our female, Macie for about a year before we got our male, Bo. Bo was so naughty compared to Macie! He could care less about potty training, he was into EVERY THING! Anytime that Macie got to go mowing with Brandon and Bo had to stay home….Bo was a wreck! He turned back into this destroying monster. When Macie passed away in 2016 Bo was a monster again. He destroyed a lot of things, he couldn’t be left alone out in the house and when he was in his kennel he was doing harm to himself as well. So we decided to look for another dog a month after Macie passed. We looked at 2 dogs from a rescue in Omaha and they didn’t fit our needs. Then the 3rd dog from the rescue came available, Loki. He got along great with Bo, but didn’t think it was going to work out when we got him home and in our surroundings & Creighton. But after a week he adjusted and is great. Bo is back to being his normal self and loves having another friend! So we believe having the 2 dogs help each other stay calm and not be so “naughty” or lonely. Good luck!

Thanks so much Katie! Camp is so well behaved and we have such a good dynamic that I am worried the new dog with mess with that. But they could also fit in perfectly! Glad to hear Loki and Bo are getting along great!
