Apartment Decor Roundup – All Under $2,500!

July 13, 2017 in Design Plans / Home Design

Today I’m excited to share with you my first design roundup of affordable apartment decor. I was recently contacted by a reader to help decorate her new apartment in Kansas City. After sending her over a few design options and we finalized a plan. I can’t wait to share the finished room with you all in the fall! There were a few design plans we didn’t end up using and so I decided to do a roundup of four different styles. These plans are for the twenty-something gal on a budget. Every design plan includes affordable apartment decor for your kitchen, dining room, and living room – a common open concept layout for small spaces. Each plan also comes in at under $2,500!!!

Affordable Apartment Decor

The four styles I worked within are Bohemian, Farmhouse, Fashionista, and Midcentury. I found some awesome deals and you could honestly mix and match between styles very easily if you align with more than one. I usually fall into the Bohemian vibe – but I also like a lot more color then most. The Fashionista board really stole my heart.

My parameters for affordable apartment decor included large (normally expensive) pieces for three full rooms (kitchen, dining, living), be on budget and affordable (under $2,500), and use copper accents (just for a fun challenge).

Reader Discount!

There are also three pieces of art I used on every plan (this print clip, this letterboard, and this print by Bezalel and Babel). All three match perfectly and are super affordable. Jess at Bezalel and Babel is also offering all my readers a 15% discount code! Read through to the bottom to get the code!

The plans also gives a good base style for finding items in your own city shops and thrift stores to work toward have a cohesive collected home.

Shopping on your own and shopping vintage is a major part of having a “collected home.” A collected home is the difference between your home looking like a Target ad and a place where a person/family actually lives, works and plays! I am currently working on a “Guide to Achieving a Collected Home” download so be sure to sign up for the newsletter to be the first to get it!

First up in affordable apartment decor styles, bohemian! This one is for aspiring plant ladies and the gals who love their neutrals. My favorite pieces are the dining room chairs, the gem print (only $15!), and the accent chair. If you need a bit more color I would highly recommend using the gem print as a large art piece and working with the colors found in each of the gems (including that stunning emerald green sofa!) The rug is also a great neutral investment and is used on our next plan, Farmhouse.

This style is closest to the plan we used for my design client. Modern Farmhouse is seriously on trend right now. There are so many great affordable items in this style currently – i.e. Joanna Gaines! My favorite pieces are the kitchen runner, the map print (also by Bezalel and Babel), and the dining room table (which we ended up getting for my clients house and is also on major sale right now!) One great note regarding ALL the plans is the kitchen runners. All of them are all super affordable and from Urban Outfitters. (Look for the ones with the word “print” in the title, cotton, and are in the $59-170 range.) I have a few of these rugs and they are seriously durable – I throw them in the washer all the time!

Fashionista

I wasn’t sure what to call this one and I’m pretty sure Fashionista isn’t a specific design style in the interiors world. I based this style on my little sister. Meghan is super fun, colorful, trendy, and flirty.  I am OBSESSED with the dining room chairs, the lucite bar stools, the rose gold coffee table, and the sofa. (If you are even thinking for a second about how gorg that sofa is you need to go buy it – it is currently on sale for $419!) Don’t even get me started on the living room rug! My cousin has this exact one in her living room paired with a similar more colorful one. It seriously makes the room!

Midcentury

I feel like this is the most on trend plan for 2017. You are going to find a plethora of midcentury hutches, coffee tables, and dressers in antique stores. This plan is the most affordable minus the sofa. The sofa is from a company called Article. I have been dying to order this pink velvet gem! The sofa is $1000 and is the most high quality out of all 4 boards. Jenny’s Print Shop (where a lot of the prints are from) has a lot of Palm Springs flavored prints. You could easily find more to match the “Motel” print featured.

Can I just say, I am loving that Let’s Get Cozy print! Be sure to check out Bezalel and Babel for that print and tons of others along with some vintage finds! Use the code HAPPIESTCAMPER15 to receive 15% off her shop through the end of July!
